An AMS crankshaft overhaul includes the following work:

• Check crankshaft for cracks
• Check crankshaft for dimensional accuracy and twisting / bending
• Check crankshaft bearings for dimensional accuracy
• Check the crankshaft connecting rod bearings for dimensional accuracy
• Crankshaft drill out old plugs - clean from inside
• Check sprockets for dimensional accuracy
• Check distributor drive, if present
• Grind crankshaft connecting rod bearing to - 0.25 mm
• Crankshaft connecting rod bearing inductive hardening
• Align and re-plug the crankshaft
• Finely grind and polish all bearing points
• Fine grinding and polishing of the contact surfaces of the Simmer rings
• Clean and flush the crankshaft with high frequency and high pressure
